Skyblue are looking to hire a Research Executive on an initial 4 month internship starting from June 2017. As a Research Executive in our small but successful research company you can expect a varied and engaging job role that exposes you to many aspects of the research process. The role will involve a number of key roles and responsibilities including: 

  • Administration for field work projects
  • Literature review
  • Desk research across a number of key industries
  • Telephone fieldwork
  • Data inputting
  • Quantitative data analysis using SPSS
  • Qualitative analysis 


Person specification      

Candidates need to be enthusiastic, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as within a team. In addition, they will need to be highly literate and numerate with a keen eye for detail. They must demonstrate an aptitude for report writing, critical analysis and problem solving, together with commensurate IT, organisational and presentational skills.

The ability to learn quickly will be advantageous and a full driving licence, with willingness to travel, is essential. 


Skills & experience
  

  • An interest in developing research experience in the social research sector or, ideally, research experience gained commercially or as part of a degree / qualification / experience
  • Understanding of qualitative research methods
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office and SPSS (desirable)
  • Numerate
  • Literate – clear, concise writing style
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Strong spoken communication skills
  • Full driving licence


Degree: Applicants should be educated to (or currently studying at) degree level or equivalent and ideally be interested in a career in (social/economic) research. 

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Salary: c£16,000 (pro rata) for fixed term dependent on experience

Working days: Initially 3 days per week (days to be agreed between candidate and Skyblue based on business needs)

Eligibility: Candidates must, by the start of their employment, have permission to work in the UK
